To deepen cooperation in foreign-related legal services and help domestic enterprises seize cross-border investment opportunities in Singapore while mitigating legal risks in global expansion, representatives from Abdul Rahman Law Corporation (ARLC) visited Sichuan Xingrong Law Firm on the morning of October 9. Together with Beijing Dingyaohe Law Firm, they co-hosted the Seminar on Singapore Legal Analysis for Cross-Border Investment and MOU Signing Ceremony for the Tripartite Joint Office.

The event was held at Sichuan Xingrong Law Firm. Abdul Rahman, Managing Director of Singapore’s ARLC, and Shahzhadee Rahman, Partner of ARLC, attended as keynote speakers.

At the start of the event, Sichuan Xingrong Law Firm, Beijing Dingyaohe Law Firm and Singapore’s ARLC jointly held the signing ceremony for the foreign-related bilateral Memorandum of Understanding, marking the official establishment of a regular foreign-related legal service partnership among the three parties.

Going forward, leveraging their respective regional strengths, the three parties will carry out in-depth collaboration in areas including cross-border investment, commercial dispute resolution, foreign-related civil and commercial affairs, and Islamic law-related practices. They will jointly build a China-Singapore cross-border legal service channel to provide one-stop cross-border legal support for enterprises going global.

Following the signing ceremony, the exchange salon commenced. Mr. Abdul Rahman is a qualified practicing lawyer in Singapore with extensive experience in cross-border law, commercial matters and Islamic law. Partner Shahzhadee Rahman specializes in litigation and dispute resolution and serves as legal counsel for the pro bono division of Singapore’s Criminal Legal Aid Scheme. The two Singaporean lawyers delivered a presentation themed Cross-Border Business and Legal Challenges. They shared practical insights covering Singapore’s legal environment for investment, key compliance considerations for cross-border projects, settlement of cross-border commercial disputes, and common legal pitfalls for enterprises investing in Singapore.

During one-on-one Q&A sessions, they analyzed critical legal issues for Chinese enterprises entering the Singapore market based on case studies provided by lawyers from our firms. They engaged in interactive discussions with participating lawyers to explore implementation pathways for cross-border projects.

This salon has established a practical platform for legal exchanges between China and Singapore, representing a milestone in the global outbound legal service layout of Sichuan Xingrong Law Firm and Beijing Dingyaohe Law Firm.

Moving ahead, the three parties will continue to strengthen cross-border legal service coordination. Relying on the outbound practice division, they will further tap legal service demands in the ASEAN market. The three parties will provide domestic Sichuan and nationwide enterprises with a full-spectrum ecosystem of institutional resources integrating government, enterprise, commercial, financial, legal and tax services, safeguarding the steady global expansion of Chinese enterprises.
